About Columbian Lawyers Association

Founded in 1955, the Columbian Lawyers Association, First Judicial Department, is proud to count among its members prominent jurists, practicing attorneys and law students of Italian American descent. Friends of the Columbian Lawyers include financial institutions, corporations and individuals who share the ideals and goals of the Association.

Columbian Lawyers Association Mission Statement:

1. To function as a Bar Association comprised of lawyers celebrating Italian culture, innovation and achievement.
2. To maintain a program that provides continuing legal education for members of the Bar.
3. To make charitable contributions to worthy law students in the form of academic scholarships.

We are proud to participate in the judicial screening process, appointing members of Columbian Lawyers Association to the New York Supreme and Civil Court screening panels. The panels convene every April. It is time consuming but rewarding work, contributing to the selection of qualified candidates for election to our Courts.
