About Garfield Unico

We are a private non-profit organization comprised of more that 50 active members dedicated to preserving our Italian Heritage while committed to providing a better quality of life for those in need on a community and national level.

UNICO is the largest Italian-American service organization in the United States. The Garfield Chapter raises funds to support various charities and to assist our community in times of need. Our chapter also gives scholarships to local high school students.

The UNICO National mission is to promote the image of Italian Americans along with Italian heritage and culture by supporting charitable, scientific, cultural, educational, and literary projects.

UNICO’s motto is “Service Above Self”. UNICO means “unique” or “only one of its kind” in Italian and additionally, the letters represent: U-Unity, N-Neighborliness, I-Integrity, C-Charity and O-Opportunity.
